The meeting made it possible to review progress on the case files and to coordinate action aimed at strengthening this conservation initiative driven by Indigenous peoples themselves.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the process, AFRONTA provides ongoing technical support to the communities by preparing and strengthening the case files, coordinating with the competent authorities and following up on each stage of the procedure. Carlos Torres, technical specialist at AFRONTA, highlighted that joint work with the communities and SERNANP seeks to ensure that conservation proposals led by Indigenous peoples continue to move forward in line with the established requirements.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/afronta.org.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/nota-17-image2.webp\" alt=\"Las \u00c1reas de Conservaci\u00f3n Privadas constituyen un mecanismo que permite conservar ecosistemas de alto valor ambiental ba\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><figcaption>Private Conservation Areas are a mechanism that allows ecosystems of high environmental value to be conserved under the management of their owners, strengthening the protection of biodiversity and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.
