To support this goal, a guidance session was held to strengthen the capacities of the technical team of the Purús Territorial Management Office of the Regional Government of Ucayali in designing and implementing its investments in ecosystems, applying the standards for effective restoration. This technical assistance was provided by the Asociación Fronteras Amazónicas – AFRONTA through its ecosystem restoration specialist.

Drawing on the conceptual and practical restoration evidence discussed, together with the technical guidelines for ecosystem restoration, the standards of practice for effective restoration and the resource guide for implementing Target 2 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the team analysed the investment project for recovering degraded ecosystems in native communities in the buffer zone of the Purús Communal Reserve, led by the Purús Territorial Management Office, identifying the main areas for improving the design and approach of its three components.
